Learning About Sourcing Auto Accessories

Hi, I'm Kate Balcome. Welcome to my site about automotive accessories. As an owner of three antique vehicles, I often run into problems sourcing original automotive accessories. I have to talk with car club communities or arrange part runs with suitable suppliers to find the pieces I need. Although I could fit a different part, it's important to keep my vehicles as original as possible. I want to use this site to help other people find the auto accessories they need for their car builds. I may discuss the process of manufacturing the parts in detail from time to time. I may also cover purchase options and methods you can use to find the best deal on these parts. I hope you will come by again soon to learn more. Thanks.

Accessories That Can Add Some Flair To Your Car Or Truck

Adding accessories to your car or truck is a great way to make a statement or show people your personality. Some of the accessories are practical and some purely decorative, but there are many fun options available if you are looking for something extra for your car or truck.

License Plate Frames

Added a frame around the license plates on your car can be fun. There are many different styles available, like Ford license plate frames, and some that have fun sayings, vehicle branding, or even a supportive message for a military branch or public service printed on the frame. There are also some frames that have business names, sports teams, or websites to promote, but these are often custom designs.

When you are looking for license plate frames for your car or truck, it is crucial to make sure that the frame does not cover the registration tags on the plate, or you could get stopped by law enforcement. Most frames have a cutout or lower section that allows the tags to show, but if you are buying the frame locally, ask if you can take the frame out and line it up on your plate to ensure it will fit right.

If you just want to add some chrome to the car, a simple frame with nothing on it that covers only the edges of the plate can be a nice touch. These are also available in gold, black, and other paint colors if you want to match the car color or create an accent that will stand out from your paint job.

License Plate Covers

Another accessory that can go on your car is a cover for the license plates that keep them clean. It is critical that you check on the legality of the cover in your area before you put it on the car, though, because, in some areas, the covers obscure the reflective properties of the plate and may not be legal. Check with local law enforcement if you have questions or other concerns.

Another issue can be tinted covers because it can be challenging for police to see your plates through these covers, but if the car is a show car, you can add these kinds of accessories for events if you are not driving the car on the street.

In a case like this, you can find covers with branding logos on the surface or some other decoration, but they often cover the plate numbers and can only be used when the car is not on the street.
